Andrew Beer is an IBM Certified Executive Project Manager specializing in large systems integration projects focusing on Freight and Logistics within the Travel and Transport Industry. Currently he is the Programme Director and Leads the IBM team at Hammad Port, Qatar where IBM is responsible for overall system integration as well as deploying a number of IBM Port systems.
He joined IBM in the UK working on projects in the utilities industry and then moved the UAE where he has worked across the Middle East for the last 17 years and is currently based in Qatar. His assignments have included leading the IBM “Master System Integrator” team at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi (CCAD) for 3 years, Programme Management of the systems integration at Hamad Port Project as well as University Hospital in Dubai and the eHealth Strategy in Saudi Arabia.
Andrew is currently working for IBM in Qatar he is experienced in managing change and completing complex programs, working with government and private sector clients managing multiple stakeholders at an executive level. He has strong leadership, communication and team building skills working with diverse multi-disciplinary teams as well as managing sub contractors.
Early in his career Andrew served in the Royal Navy experiencing a number of maritime deployments as well as being part of the team accepting two ships from construction into service. He worked in the Ministry of Defence supporting Ship Commissioning from shipyards in Barrow in Furness and the Clyde.
